Thanks for ur comments, as people have talked about courage for leadership i would like to say that courage is something which is not inborn quality,if u feel that somebody is couragious PLZ look at different situation he would have faced,adverse situation imbibe courage in u? when it comes to survival u will be couragious .what is needed is situation to challenge ur survival

Good leader : Bad leader

Today's class basically talked about what qualities should be avoided in a leader...and surprisingly the list was long. Also, most of the leaders in today's scenario can identify with not just one but several of these characteristics.
The question is why does this situation emerge that we have leaders with so many avoidable qualities? Do most of us lack leadership quality that we do not rise to the occasion and try and change the leader if he possesses? How can bad leaders be avoided?

Why is it that even though we know that most of the political leaders around can be identified with one or several of these categories, the entire nation has not been able to get rid of them? Is it indifference and lack of endeavor or is it natural and acceptable that a leader has few bad qualities?

What does not make a leader

Today we had a very interesting session on what type of leaders should be avoided , rather than what type should be chosen . when in a normal scenario we look at what makes a leader and what are the traits which disinguish them from others , "what does not make a leader" is something which got me thinking. in todays world as we look around there are more people who have the qualities which make them more unfit , than fit for leadership . the concepts discussed such as nest featherers,recognition seekers etc are all characteristics of most of the common leaders as we see them today. In todays world, there a very few people who genuinely take up selfless leadership .As seen through the numerous examples discussed in class, most leaders today put themselves ahead of their group than vice versa.

Banning of porn sites- A case of too much judicial activism???

The recent suggestion by the chief Justice of India to ban the porn sites has been seen by many as another case of judiciary over stretching its limits and powers in matters related to executive and legislature.As a mature democracy it should be left to people to decide what they see and what not, and too much interference in their personal space would amount to curtailment of their freedom. What is left to be seen is that whether govt. heeds to this suggestion or it leaves to the common sense of people to decide what is best for them and not doing sort of Web censorship as being done in China

Social work’s collective action dilemma

Often people join social service initiatives with the intention of doing well. However of these only a small section takes them seriously and does the bulk of work while others just remain as dormant participant .Thus even though the initiative is a collective one yet only a handful works. It is not as if the ones who free ride appropriates the gains out of it, for there are no material gains but just the satisfaction of a job well done. Also since membership is often open, people seeking entry cannot be barred even though they might not be required.

Leadership crisis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reading, Leadership : The critical factor could not have been discussed in the class at a better time. Right now PRM 30 is facing a leadership crisis. After the resignation of our former CR, there is no one as the face of the batch. Since this time we know most of the batch members in and out, so it gives us an ideal opportunity to choose a leader who can successfully sail us through the stormy weather yet to come.

62 years to the day when he fell to the assassins’ bullets, Gandhi achieved in death what he could not in life i.e. put an end to one of the worst communal massacres in history. The men who killed him came together for a simple purpose of avenging the partition but little did they or anyone since have realized that killing him in bone and flesh or vilification serves no purpose but keeps the flame of hatred burning. Gandhi has died million deaths since in Ahmedabad,Meerut,Delhi,Bhagalpur,Mumbai,Godhra and list sadly continues....
