Fight Against Terrorism

President Pratibha Patil called for a collective action to counter terrorism, while cautioning that terrorism
constituted a grave threat to the civilized world”. The Honorable President told these words, in her first Republic Day address to the nation.
In a country with so many castes and creeds, this statement raises a question that how long can we go to achieve this goal? The terrorists are making use of these differences to reap their benefits. In a country where a slogan of “Unity in Diversity” is given, can we really forget our diversities in terms of castes, religions and fight collectively against the evil of terrorism? Even if we unite for a collective action how to ensure that they can not divide us again?

Though Indians are divided based on the lines of caste and religion the struggle that is going against equality of rights is only because of deep rooted undelying discrimination that is existing between the castes and religion. Once India achieves to drive out the discrimination that is present then no external or internal evil can cause damage to India and Indians as a whole. This requires again a committed, ethical collective action. Then we can dream of Happy India instead of developed India. P28004, M.Amarender reddy

Terrorism is not a reason for a cause, its just a means by which few handful of people in order to carry their own interest have arranged an army of illiterate people to satiate their own barbaric chasm. They utilize several tools and are very clever to pick “Diversity” as means to cause destruction and terrorize one sect. Infact they know that this is the tool which they can utilize most effectively than any other tool. And why can’t they !!!! They all are well aware of our past. They have a reason to select the “Divide and Rule Policy” which at one point of time British used most effectively to intrude in our country. Division of India and Pakistan was another example set by them which showed us how united we were. And now the adage “History repeats itself” is again going to be true.
Diversity in terms of caste, creed, sex, religion and god knows on how many different criterions will stay forever. These are some of the distinction which nature has created but it is us who practice it and utilize for keeping ones own interest.
There are two reasons for practicing terrorism - either the people who practice it are highly educated and off course the richest people or they are illiterate and poor to an extent that they don’t understand the difference between what is called barbarism and what is humanity.
It is true that when man’s basic needs are fulfilled he starts looking for something which gives him pleasure. Some good, some bad. Starting from stone age to nuclear age much diversity has been attained and still the process is going on but there is still a line of demarcation between humans and animals. Terrorism is a beastly act to attain supremacy and rule the world. Humanity is its counterpart. But the question is how to attain the zenith of what is called civilized. Will education help or the money? A million dollar question!!!
Time has come when we should realize that what nature has given us, nature can take it back too. None in this world can help then. The big decision is with us whether to stop it or wait for some one to resolve the matter.

Terrorism is vioence not against any community or religion as such, its attack on the humanity as a whole. In acountry as diverse as India it becomes all the more easy for terrorists to carry on their inhumane activities.
They may attack a temple(Varanasi)or a mosque(Hyderabad). Their basic aim is to create a rift between communities.
Off late India has shown a kind of collective action by not letting the terrorist to fulfill their intensions. There have been no riots inspite of the fact that these attacks were specially carried out keeping these dirty intensions in the mind. Here, by collective action our Honourable President does not expect from us to collectively fight with all the violent means, what she means is that we show a similar form of cooperation by not indulging in any sort of communal riots and stand together as "UNITED INDIA" to help our freinds in such trying circumstances.....

"Exploiting Emotions"...a term which best describes the sole reason behind people of one country agreeing to be a part of some "Anti Social" communal action like Terrorism. The terrorist groups use rather exploit these strong feelings of a person against a system, towards his community, for an issue...This is the main reason behind those so called "communal wars".. post bomb blast hindu-muslim riots in Mumbai in 1993, Ayodhya issue, Godhra Massacre...
A documentary, "Raam ke naam pe"(which is banned by the govt), made on the godhra issue makes it very evident that even the entire political setup in this so called
"Secular" country has its roots in religion...
So, the main issue which comes up is... in a country which is so divided in its own very self... Can they tke up a stand against such "emotionally guarded behaviours" like riots and communal wars...

What is considered 'terrorism' (not by the literal meaning, but by the way we perceive it) depends on where you stand. Staunch belief and commitment to a cause colour the views of the people. As it is rightly opined ' one's terrorist is another's freedom fighter'. Reflecting on it from a CAC point of view, Terrorism exemplifies the collective action at its best. The tactics used, the synchronisation, the preparation, the never ending enthusiasm and the commitment to the cause ensures true collective action. It should be kept in mind that when we consider terrorism and the so called terrorists that, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, whom we consider as great freedom fighters, were branded 'terrorists' by the British!!!

The realization that true essence of collective action lies not in the Trophy won, but the race run is the only way to refrain from resorting to terror...the means to achieve the goal is as important as the goal itself...
