It was saddening to read that a NREG cardholder lost her husband to starvation. Even for performing the last rites she had to depend upon charity because of her lack of information about the fact that she can demand work or avail unemployment benefits as rights under NREGA.
Many incidents happen daily where people loose their near-and-dear ones for lack of information about the benefits which they are entitled to. Perhaps a collective action by the civil society is needed to create awareness about everywhere in India as many have no exposure to such media which will create it.
