Battle at Kruger

Another example of collective action among animals.
The Battle at Kruger(http://www.BattleAtKruger.com) is one video clip which took the internet by storm . This depicts the collective action of a herd of buffaloes at the Kruger National Park against a pride of lions and a crocodile to save a calf of their herd.

Wow! A nice depiction of collective action .The same way they were behaving as found in human being! Is the language of collective action is universally similar? Like the lions collectively snatched the calf from crocodile and the crocodile couldn’t do it alone and left. Whenever it came the turn of buffalos the one who was in the front was moving back when it became closer of the lions, but the other buffalos following him energized to go ahead ,not to back. Finally they could do it. So support from environment makes any collective action stronger.

@Anshuman: Sometimes pictures speak more than letters and sparing 9 minutes you could have a better idea which you may not get in other way. Off course you have to bear with the speed of net.

It is a proven fact that most of the mammals hunt in groups because it is advantageous to them. Probably they are not looking into it from the individual and group benefits and costs perspective like we do but nature has it in itself to promote the idea of collective action!
