Mahatma and Dairy Cooperative

Before the independence,Gandhi had explained the importance of Dairy- Cooperaive.In HARIJAN on 6th oct.1946,he wrote-
"The secret of successful co-opeartive effort is that the members must be honest and know the great merit of co-operation and it must hav ea definite progreesive goal.Thus holding a certain sum of money in co-operation for the sake of making more money by charging exorbitant rates of interest is a bad goal.But,co-operative farming or dairying is a undoubtely a good goal promoting national interest.Such instances can be multiplied."
And,this vision was implemented by Father of White revolution in later decades in Gujarat.Many times Dr. Kurien was asked-"Why not this revolution became successful in all parts of India."
And,he always answered-"This was not done due to me.....but,it was done due to the extra-ordinary co-operative behaviours of the farmers of Gujarat...".
