Save Our Tigers!!! Another chance to do a collective action

From last couple of days we are discussing about Milaap and whether it was a successful collective action or not? Some of our friends opined that it should me made a practical kind of thing for CAC.

So, I thought, can we really go for a practical for this and while browsing the net, I came across Save Our Tigers Campaign. I found it indeed a campaign that needs a collective action to succeed. So I request you all to go to the following link and find out how can we promote the awareness about our National Animal which is on the verge of extinction. And in this process you will feel like doing some kind of collective action. Also its pretty easy for free-riders to reap the benefit without putting so much of effort.

I like the way you are trying to convince the people to increase awareness about tiger. but why only tigers? There are many others also.
Here i want to say that most people plan for development or betterment of something, but how many of them are implementing to get it?
So rather than increasing awareness as most of us know its negative impact, don't you think that we should take some collective action?

@ Anshuman: Yes, there are many species which comes in this list. No doubt we can do similar things for them also. But until we take a small step from our side it's not going to happen. This small step is to make people more aware and spreading awreness is also a collective action. The more people will know it,the greater the chances are of collective action.

from 40,000 at the turn of last century to 1411 today......
yes, this is the number of tigers left in this country and the number is continuously decreasing...we love to be called as EMERGING TIGERS in the world but just think what an irony it would be to called so, if no tigers are left in the country.....till now all the efforts have been in vein a collective effort from all the section of the society is needed so that the roar of a billion can reach to the ears of the poachers....

Tiger is symbol of wilderness and well-being of the ecosystem. By conserving and saving tigers the entire wilderness ecosystem is conserved. In nature, barring human beings and their domesticates, rest of the ecosystem is wild. Hence conserving wilderness is important and crucial to maintain the life support system. So saving tiger amounts to saving the ecosystem which is crucial for man's own survival.

Tigers are killed for sport, skins & body parts. At the turn of the century, there were almost reportedly 40,000 tigers in India, but now only around 4,000 remain in the wild.
So if you can save the tiger from extinction then you are also saving so many other species in turn.Tiger is not only getting extinct due to hunting but also due to decreasing forest cover and increasing intervention in the habitat by man.
