deception

the first tactic as put forward by saul alinsky is a representation of age old wisdom of power perception . An interesting example from nature which is true with regard to this rule is that of a spider which paralyses its victim by its sheer presence , maybe the victim had a chance to escape had it not been intimidated by the spider's sheer presence .this is true of many people around us, we tend to submit to them just because we percieve them as being superior to us beacuse of their physical appearence or traits , when the reality is they may not be as powerful as they seem to be.

Absolutely, many a times the enemy may just be perceived big or terrifying by us, but it may not be so. It may also be that, we may perceive our enemy to be weak and timid, but it may not be so.... Thus, as we learnt in CAC, if we want to fight, it is necessary to throw away the image of the enemy and than fight!

I believe in case of fight, one should always regard the enemy as stronger. This helps us in making much proper strategies. So, for winning, one cannot necessarily throw away the image of enemy and then fight because if you cannot form the image of your opponent how will you fight him?
