Means and Ends ..
One of the rules of means and ends states that irrespective of the (unethical) means used by a person, if he emerges as the winner, then is praised everywhere. These kinds of examples could be frequently witnessed in the field of sports. If unchecked, if doping wins a person medal, or ball tampering a match, then they will be praised for their achievement which they truly did not deserve.

Similar is scoring good grades and accumulating wealth through unfair and unethical means. In both cases after a certain period of time, no one bothers about the means through which he/she acheived it, only the success at the end matters.
"History is written by the victor" and the ends decide the means for some and for the others they are indistinguishable . Very difficult to say which one's true. It's analogous to the chicken and the egg debate I think.
