SRK vs Sena

Shiv Sena has become the power that it now is because of the local support even though it has never won the assembly elections and has never got more than 25% mandate in the State. And it has various outlets to show its might. The recent SRK vs Shiv Sena is a case in point. He has coolly declined apologizing for his remarks made in the IPL auctions.

What now could be done is that the Bollywood Film fraternity, which is quite powerful, should collectively stand against it and supporting SRK to dissuade Sena from playing such divisive politics.

I think if the comments of SRK were not abusive or against the law , then no has the right to attack him irrespective it be a political party or the film fraternity. Its just that he is a popular icon, his statements have been hitting the headlines...but many of the indians agree with him. But, at the same time, POWER plays an inflential role in the society. Here SRK is more powerful than Shiv Sena because of the support he already has and the one he got from the media and other political parties. Power defines who has the edge over the rest in many situations in India.

The power I think is more on the side of Sena. The problems created over the release over his new film says it all.
This just goes to show what kind of a problem any leader can have when he raises his voice against the status quo.
Here, what he can do is mobilise the entire film fraternity (they are already economically powerful) and continue with his stance.
In any collective action, people come and join it if only their marginal benefit is more than the cost they may accrue. The cost is regarding problems in releasing the movie as in this case (and many more). These very people had come together when a profit-sharing row with the multiplex owner was there.

the best way to deal with these people is to deny them the thing they crave the most.. AIRTIME.. let the voices of hatred go unheard but how will they ? not at least as long as the popular media keeps publishing articles on this 'Sena' that 'Sena' .. The mere fact that the uncle nephew duo is @ the forefront of Marathi politics even after Shiv Sena's infamous role in '92 riots(of which they have bee found guilty btw) shows what a Banana Republic is ours..

I see this as more of a situation to understand collective action
Bollywood came together against the multiplex owners when the moot point was the profit-sharing ratio but on this occasion they haven't(as yet) as the the reasons have changed.
This shows us that people who have been a collective on one occasion may not be the same if certain other requirements don't match.
