Managing Conflicts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is always seen that whenever and wherever people work together conflicts are bound to happen, especially if we are talking about Common resources . How does an NGO resolve conflicts amicably among people belonging to different communities and castes without hurting any body's sentiments?????????????? How do they maintain a fine balance between the interests of different people (communities) which is a prerequisite for any collective action???????????

NGOs mobilize people by making them aware about the underlying problems. And the issue has to be one which bridges the gaps created by caste and communities.

You have rightly pointed out that many times conflict arises when collective action is going on.
Out of more than 3 crores cases pending in different courts of India,a major part is related to family disputes.
As far as conflict and role of NGO is concerned I have to say the following-
1.Please donot assume that an NGO is a solver of all the problems.
2.Society,Caste-religion, and the government play a major role in most of the conflicts.
3.NGO has its limited resources and accessibility.
4.Sometimes an NGO becomes one of the parties of the conflicts, which results into more complex situation. And,here need of balance is required.
5.Generally,an NGO works for the "havenots",but on the other side "haves" have the resources and accessibility to influence the outcomes.

Well. it is not easy to manage conflicts in a collective action programme. At best, make the people involved in the collective action more responsible, give them sense of belongigness towards the work, make them feel proud and also if possible allow them to learn from their own mistakes. This is not so easy, but in the longer run this can effectively work in reducing conflicts and managing conflicts.
