Media Activism

Certain cases change the way things are or happen ::
1) Uphaar Cinema Case
2) Jessica Lal Murder Case
3) Nitish Katara Murder case
4) Sanjeev Nanda Hit and Run
5) Shopian case (J&K)
and now the latest in the list is the Ruchika Molestation case.
the similarity in all these cases is that these were first highlighted by the media and slowly led to a mass protest. What followed is known to all of us, candle light marches and other forms of protests. This inturn led to the investigating authorities becoming more proactive and under pressure from the people the politicians too lubricated the entire procedure for judiciary to function. But the question still remains as to why there are only handful of cases which get mentioned by the media and as to why the people have to protest to get what they command--JUSTICE..and but the only consolation is that people get together, with the media reinforcing the call and thus action is carried out. an action which is just and an action which is called for ..and also to mention in two of the cases I mentioned, two women single handedly fought the cases against all odds and inturn proved what Keshav just pointed out..

you rightly said vineet ,there are very few such cases because today media is more concern about sensational new than real news.today we have very few good journalists who are working hard to present the real state of affairs to the people.these cases lead us to imagine what media can do if they sincerely put their efforts in providing the news which is affecting the society and which has some relevance to the society.
