Signification-Dominance-Legitimization

We must realize that the concept of Signification-Dominance-Legitimization is something we all ought to sit up and take note of.It comes as a novel way of looking at the myriad initiatives of social change being brought in by different agencies, and gives a reason to analyze where the weaknesses lie. Do we fail to make a direct impact on the symbolic order because we fear its sanctity and sensitivity? Why are most initiatives taking the indirect & delayed route to positive social change? Can we challenge the symbolic order head on, and succeed? We all need to find an answer.

yeah i completly agree with you.. i think this is what is the call of the time. identification of the lacunas and coming over the conventional fear of causing danger to the symbolism which may be caused otherwise also has to be overcome..

There have been occasions in the of name social reform movements under which people changed the very core of norms and practices in a society, alleviating suffering from thousands of people. In all these social reforms we only come to know about the leader. But he is not the only one who works to bring change in the society, there are followers with him.The co-operation of these people have brought success to the social reforms. In this background the best example is Raja Ram Mohan Roy,who helped in abolishing Sati. I feel we need go through the annals of history and learn from it. It might help us to brace up some guts to fight the real cause and bring in changes.
