What 'It is subjective' means?

‘It is subjective’ / ‘Subjectivity’ is a phrase / word usually often said and heard by us. It has been used quite often in this forum too. What is subjectivity? or What, when I say 'It is subjective' mean? Today’s class made me reflect. I think the term is inherently focussed on ‘I’. It reflects our inability to look beyond the self and self interest; at the interest of others, identifying the enlarged self and move towards common good. This mental block seems to me the biggest challenge in even attempting to identify the common, let alone conceptualize common good.
