The agitation for separate Telangana is taking new shape in Andhra Pradesh. The statement of Mr. Chidambaram is again invoking protests in Telangana for assured promise from Centre and called for indefinite strike in Telangana for the same. One interesting aspect is that the parties that supported the Telangana formation prior to elections changed their stance, and started United Andhra agitation. This led even to the division in the given party as well. But after resistance from the Telangana representatives, Joint Action Committee which included all political parties’ MLAs and MPs of the region was formed and are now fighting collectively for the formation.
