Trust : A Stepping Stone to Collective Benefit

The reason we lost the game was simple. Leaving rationality aside, if all the groups had maintained the trust that the other groups had in them; the result would have been different. Some people define rationality as selfishness, infact in a collective action that is one thing it surely isn't. Even before the 10th round, if people had trusted each other the scenario still would have been different. What was missing was trust and if that is not there, then rationality or no rationality; the collective goal is destined to be doomed.
