Telangana and other questions..

The demand for a seperate state of Telangana was very old and legitimate if we compare the development indices of Telangana with other parts of the state. I am not going in to the reasons for non development nor claiming that carving a seperate state of Telangana is the cure for all ills that this region suffers from. The manner in which the demand was accepted raises different questions. Is it not possible to acheive a political goal through continued struggle and peaceful protests( however ligitimate the cause may be) ? Was centre blackmailed in to accepting the demand for the seperate Telangana ? Did centre fear violent backlash in case K Chandrashekhar Rao's death which lead to accepting the demand? If the only way you can make state listen to your demand is by raising the spectre of violence then peaceful mobilisation has no meaning ? Are naxals not justified in using the violence as a tool ?

I guess as a society we need to learn better way to show protest as in the end we want citizens not hooligans.Demand for Telangana state wont be such an big issue till violence comes into the picture and change the scenario but isnt it strange that those who are developing the tensions and vandalising in Osmania University would be the future residents of the state so what would be the future of such state. So the same goes with Naxalites as well what means which they use (violence) to justify the demands wont threaten their own state by some other groups in future? Then this vicious cycle would be difficult to break.Till the time state agrees to follow the concept of HOLON then it isnt an issue but moment politics steps in it makes it worse.....Hope MNS dosent demand Mumbai as separate Marathi state :-))
