LEADERSHIP- THE CRITICAL FACTOR

Leadership in a Cooperative involves setting of a vision and the process of reaching it through acts of inspiration, guidance and commitment.leaders should be effective communicators, stay in touch with the members and inspire confidence. So care should be taken to prevent people like ego builders, asset accumulators, recognition seekers etc. who may fill the leadership vacuums and Hijack the cooperative resulting in fatal damage. but the question arising here is HOW TO IDENTIFY AND REPLACE BAD LEADERS and ensure that potential leaders are drawn from various levels and trained to build their knowledge and competence..?

There are two basic qualities for becoming a leader-
1.A leader wants change.
2.A leader must take an initiative for that change.
Also, there is a threshold of tolerance. This threshold depends on the culture, society and the nation.A mass leader always emerges out of the situation of scarcity, exploitation and struggle.

I dont see any particular way through which one can disseminate good leaders with bad leaders. A good person , per say, and a good leader can change into bad leader through many processes, may be its monetary temptation, force or coercion. The only thing which we can do is to use the leaders the way we want them to. like if an ego builder is not doing anything for the society, get your thigs done using his ego only. or i believe that if an asset accumulator is accumulating assets but making asset for cooperative as well, we should not mind this
