Can you trust your friend??

An important point came out in the class discussions that it doesn't matter how many friends one has but how many can be relied upon . It is natural that in a group one would emerge as an informal leader. It is true in case of friendship also. One has to decide whether to simply listen to what this person says believing that friendship is always true or be more proactive and not blindly follow your friend. Are there people who use friendship for their advantage just like the leaders who should be avoided??

I think you can believe anything the other person says as long as you are friends in the real sense. I mean what's a real friend if you have to think twice before sharing something with them. As far as using friendship for advantage is concerned, it all depends on how you see it. When your best friend asks a favor, you don't think that he's taking advantage but if it's someone you are just on talking terms with, the thought will cross your mind.
think about it...

I agree with what Gaurav had said.

Adding to that if one cannot trust their friends then who can you trust in life?
If you cannot trust your friend whom you know about then how can you trust an unknown person? Yet every day we live trusting on unknown people.

I think it is not possible to move ahead in life without trusting others and specially friends.
But this does not mean we should not be cautious of strangers.
