Spot justice or mob lynching can be called a form of collective action where people organize themselves randomly on the basis of proximity to mete out "the right verdict" to a person or a group of persons charged with committing a crime. No one can be said to be safe from this form of verdict as is evident from reports(CEO of an MNC murdered brutally by workers, thieves or fugitives getting into the hands of people and being beaten to death as policemen look on)
The question that arises is
"What does such form of justice entail for the society"?

This phenomenon shows how the faith of common people in our police and judiciary system is decreasing by the day. Until and unless that faith is restored, such incidences will keep on repeating and there is nothing that the police can do about it. This type of incidence occurred in Bihar also and it was seen that the even the police personnels were mute spectators.
