India once had universities of international repute. But today our education system has got devalued to a great extent. As a student, I feel its my duty to ponder over its causes which maybe commercialisation, instances of fake marksheets, quality and relevance of our higher education, excessive emphasis on bookish knowledge alone, spurt in students' suicides, etc.
We seriously need to find cure for these maladies. One of which can be incorporating in our curriculum compulsory courses which are vital for health, happiness and social development. There may be so many solutions so why not cooperate and think about them.............

one of the reasons for detoriation of quality of education is because of excessive focus of government to build huge capacities to accomodate and train many more students than what the current system can do. One of the best example to this is the IIMs which were institutes of excellence however the recent addition of new iims have detoriated the standard and the brand name, similar is the case with IITs and many such centers of excellence which india used to boast about
Increasing capacity doesn't always means deterioration in quality. If seats are increasing in premier institutes of our country that does not mean its an alibi for quality deterioration. In a large country as ours, we actually face severe shortage of seats in educational institutions so the government must take all necessary steps to increase the number of seats without compromising on quality otherwise the whole objective of expansion will fail.

Moreover we should also focus on our primary and secondary education. Just having world class universities will not solve the problem.
Leave about rest of india, there are many MCD(Government) schools in national capital Delhi which even dont have any roof. Children are taught in open and schools are closed during rains.
