why you need reservation???

Mr. B R Ambedkar while proposing reservation for SC's ST's said that it is only a short term measure and this should be scrapped as soon as possible.
in fact reservation makes one's weakness more highlighted and should be avoided as much as possible rather measure for employment and opportunity generation should be made.

IRMA is a place where there is no gender biasness. both males and females have equal right. despite this fact there is no women class representative in PRM HISTORY. I do not know the reason but can we propose that reservation for the post of CR will empower women????

Do we need any CAC here????

True that reservation was intended as a short term measure, still, the question is whether the intended benefits have all been realized already, or are there still potential benefits that may be achieved through it. I am in support of th elatter argument, as we still have people in the SC-ST category who may join the mainstream if the institutional conditions for their effective participation are safeguarded!

Baba Saheb had given more emphasis on social and economical independence instead of political independence. At the time of formation of the constitution, reservation for SCs and STs were provided in the govt. jobs for 10 years. But,since its ultimate objective has not been fulfilled,so it has been extended regularly after every 10 yrs.
Honourable Supreme Court of India which has the right and obligation to explain the features of Constitution of India, has endorsed it on regular interval.Article 16(4)which provides reservation has rational logic.
It is quite contradictory that at one side you are questioning the reservation in job but on the other side wants reservation for a female participants for the post of CR in our batch.

In our class somebody was critical about the appointment of Rabri Devi as CM of Bihar, but I have seen that from the local women representative to the CM,who so ever women have got the power through any means, have overpowered their male fellow in some way. Some times in 1997-99,when Lalu ji was in jail,Rabri Devi had been directing and mobilising his rank and file of the party as well as govt. official.
Time will come when these "Dumb-doll" will overshadow their husbands and brothers through this reservation policy. But,it will certainly take 4-5 decades.

I would really appreciate the reservation for the female class representative.
and as far as reservation policy is concerned, i personally feel that till the goals of implementing this policy are not achieved it should be continued. because it provides the basic opportunity to the marginalized section of the society.
yes there is room for improvement in implementing or execution of the policy. Because it happens that the youth of higher class but poor family is deprived of the opportunity while the youth of the lower but economically sound family, who doesn't need any support gets the preference.

It would be really lame if things were avoided because they "highlighted weaknesses", also I dont know how reservation does that.
Ambedkar's argument of it being a short term thing was assuming the benefits did really reach out to those intended, which still isnt completely the case.
