Recent tirade against non-Marathi Indians in Maharashtra is actually only against poor ones as they don't have resources to fight these negative forces. In Pune I've seen these so-called 'custodians' of Marathi Asmita attacking only petty traders, cobblers, masons, etc. They never dare to attack economically and socially strong people. We can never hear that Commisioner, Pune being attacked just because he's a non-Marathi. Today it's Maharashtra, tomorrow it may be some other state.
So we can see that only poor are victims of such kind of hatred in our country. Can collective action help these poor ones?

It is outrageous that in a country as diverse as ours and one that has bled so much (and continue to do so) in the name of regionalism ,these kind of demands are still given airtime.Nagas ,Kashmiris,Punjabis,Assamese and now this..It's only a matter of time before it boils over to something as nasty as them and then the weak will again be projected as terrorists et al out to "destabilize" the country ..whoever said MNS,SS and RSS are stabilizing as they are..
This has always been the case, people with dearth of resources as well as social acceptance have always been crushed in the name of religion, caste, class etc. The scenario in Maharashtra is nothing new to us......i think what needs to be seen is when will this tirade against the "weak" stop and can our leaders bring in any change or just be mock spectators as they mostly have been.....
